I was appointed by the County Commission on January 2, 2013 to fulfill Mike Ritchie's unexpired term and began on January 16, 2013.

 

During the past 14 months as your County Clerk I have gained so much knowledge about the clerk's position.

 

We have added fax lines for all the offices; postage meter for better efficiency; additional computer to check out customers; additional computer to look up records; and have utilized the existing computer software to complete financial reports of expenditures and revenues for all funds.  

 

We have worked with our representatives in Charleston in acquiring additional funding for the county.  There were a couple of grants that were approved before I began, but needed to be completed such as the new roof and the wheelchair lift.  Both of those projects have been completed and funding has been requested and received.

 

We have also written and received several grants, most recently a grant for $17,356 for a scanner, map cabinet and personnel expenses to index information for better access.
